August 13 – Woodland Park Show (RECAP!)

Rock music at Woodland Park, presented by Balcony Bridge, featuring Man On TV and others!

Wow! What a weekend of live music it has been. After a 2-hour set in the San Juan Islands on Friday, and a day of rest and relaxation on Saturday, we returned to the scene for a wonderful day in Woodland Park with our friends Balcony Bridge! This free event was an all-day-long picnic complete with six bands: Waxer, Ponzi, Man On TV, Faunix, Midpak, and Balcony Bridge.

The poster design below was a labor of love by our very own keyboardist! If you’re looking for a challenge, try and count all the hidden animals.

Plenty of people stopped by throughout the day, basking in the sun and listening to groovy tunes. Waxer opened up the day with their two-man act, rocking the electronic drum machine to a dancing crowd. Next we had Ponzi show us what’s up with their network.

We went on next and setup quickly, as the entire show was being run from three lunchbox-sized batteries. Our set included all of the favorites, as well as one debut:

  • Tilly’s Willy
  • Ebb and Flow
  • Mayor of Funk
  • Jesus Saved My Dog
  • Slice of Life (Debut!)
  • Earthworm
  • Planes and Cars
Good vibes in the park during Midpak’s set

Following the Man On TV broadcast, Faunix delivered some heavy electronic sounds including an awesome cover of Weird Fishes. Shortly after we were graced with the psychedelic instrumentals of Midpak. And to end the night, our hosts Balcony Bridge played an hour-long set of pure madness energy. We could really feel the love emanating from their tight riffs and superior syncopation. Nice work, fellas.

Thank you everyone for coming out to the show, and thank you to our friends in Balcony Bridge who included us in this awesome summer picnic jam! We wish them the best on their tour down to California.
